We have just received word this past week from Jens Shoenfeld in Germany that Individual Computers will co-sponsor AmiWest again this year. He reports that he will be on an extensive business trip including Asia and the US around the time of the show meeting with business contacts. He will personally attend AmiWest if all goes well.

Today, an anonymous sponsor came forward to support the cost for adding Sunday, October 18, 2009 to our show! This is great news for all exhibitors and attenders, especially those who could not attend on Saturday.
Those of you who are working on T-shirt contest designs, please include the 18th as the end date for the show. Dates are now October 16-18, 2009 for AmiWest 2009.

Thanks to Ken Wilde for pointing out a conflict in our posting of dates for AmiWest 2009. I was looking at last year’s dates when I posted on amiwest.net and got things a day off.
So. . .the official dates are October 16-17, 2009. Planning issues have made an additional day on Sunday a project for next year. We will be polling everyone who attends about adding Sunday next year (2010) so think about that and let us know.

We’re loooking for a design for the new AmiWest 2009 T-shirt! All you designers out there crank up your Amigas and come up with a sharp design for an AmiWest T-shirt. We’re looking for something that will print on either a dark or light background and still look good.
The basic thrust of the design should include the dates and location of the show, a reference to Sacramento Amiga Computer Club (SACC) as the organizers and be in JPEG format at a maximum of 800 x 600 resolution. All designs submitted will be judged by SACC members (who are themselves knowledgeable designers) and will become the property of SACC. Please send your designs clearly designated for the AmiWest 09 T-shirt contest in the subject line so our filters will pick it up and route it correctly. The email address to send it to is info@amiwest.net.
We will be monitoring that address with great anticipation to see what the designers among you can create! We should have some exciting results. Get your design in today!
That’s right! We’ve been spending quite a bit of time developing a new feature for AmiWest 2009 – the Classic Clinic! We’ll have some knowledgeable Amiga classic guys here with soldering irons in hand and parts available to buy (or bring your own!) to rehab your classic Amiga machines.
It all happens on Friday evening, October 17, 2009, from 6 PM until 10 PM. Please let us know if you plan on coming so we can know how many people to plan for. Right now, we have four or five classic Amiga techs standing by to help rehab your classic Amiga hardware.

The AmiWest committee is please to welcome Bill Borsari of UGN to the AmiWest planning team. Bill, who has been webcasting AmiWest shows since the first one in 1998, has volunteered his time and energy to help push the show to a new level. We’ve already added a new feature at his suggestion.
We look forward to further productive synergies as the expanded committee brainstorms for AmiWest 2009!
After a long absence, I’m back to blogging about AmiWest 2009.
As usual, much has been happening behind the scenes. Different people have been welcomed to the planning team and at least one new feature has been added.

I’m back from our European vacation where we saw a lot and relaxed a little.
So more news about AmiWest 2009 is forthcoming. BTW, there will be an AmiWest 2009, I’m afraid we were so excited about new sponsors for the show that we forgot to announce that.
